Sure, let’s blame the victims, as if a powerful U.S. President couldn’t have chosen more compassionate ways to treat both the parents and the children. Trump had options. The people fleeing oppression had none of his options.

How would Christ have handled this? “Whatever you do to the least of my children, you do also unto me.” Trump is incapable of putting himself in anyone else’s shoes, much less the poorest of the poor.

No election can be a one-issue election. Many Democrats oppose abortion and hope that the tide will swing the other way one good day. But lack of compassion, an inability to walk a mile in the shoes of someone from a low economic level–these deficiencies lead to government for the governors, not government by, of, and for the people.
